Calhoun Beach Club Wedding in Minneapolis | Nicole & Nate

Nicole and Nate were quite possibly the most chill couple ever to plan a wedding. I worked in collaboration with B6 Design + Events—Todd's design skills meant that no detail was overlooked. Even though Nicole and Nate were laid back, their style was anything but! One of my favorite things is to take a traditional wedding venue and make it a bit more edgy and unexpected. Calhoun Beach Club is a perfect venue for this because it has two distinct rooms that can be transformed for all sorts of event experiences. My favorite design detail of this wedding was the all black head table with mirrored top—Romantic and masculine at the same time.

We were able to bring in a lot of fun to the wedding too! The ring bearer walked down the aisle with the rings in a mini-vault wearing a Ring Security shirt, and the couple's recessional song was played via BOOM BOX (totally befitting the Michael Jackson song choice).

Nicole and Nate love to travel so the table numbers were all photos of them in different cities, guests had to "travel" to their seat. The newlyweds brought the house down at the end of the night with their spot on rendition of "Shoop" by Salt N Pepa. A huge thanks to our creative team: Todd and crew with B6 Design + Events for design and floral, Photogen Inc. for the incredible photos, D'Amico Catering for their incredible food and service, rentals from Linen Effects and Apres, entertainment by Belladiva and The Traveling Photo Booth.
